On May 10th I gave my first lecture for Opera Prelude. After ten months of research (and one incredibly stressful tube/bus/cab/train/sprinting journey) I finally delivered my piece entitled ‘Mozart’s Women’. This consisted of a two hour talk punctuated by the odd aria. I was alternately terrified and delighted to have an entire Austrian cohort in the audience (who were very gracious in helping me with a few obscure German language references), and we all had a lovely lunch afterwards courtesy of hostess with the mostest Fiona Hamilton.
